Trieu Pham
Member of Music Teacher National Association (MTNA) and California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT), Mr. Trieu Pham has over 30 years of successful teaching experience in classical piano performance with children and adults. His teaching practice is based on syntheses of Russian and American methods of piano school. He is highly influenced by old tradition of Russian and European Music schools. His teaching emphasized the foundation of good technique, logical movements and good sight reading. Students receive a comprehensive music education and Certificate of Merit. He provides access to Scholarships and opportunities for annual performances in competition and festivals.
He is patient, confident and deeply committed to high standards and excellent quality of musical education. He has had many talented students participating in concerts and winning various performance awards. His students have won awards in Bach Festival, Fall Competition and have been chosen to play at annual National Music Conservatory in Saigon City. The department of Education of Viet Nam awarded Mr. Trieu Pham a Certificate of Honor for excellence in teaching.
He taught in National Music Conservatory HCM City (formerly Saigon )in Viet Nam. He also worked at the Irvine Music and Arts school, California, as a Piano Instructor. He is an accomplished pianist, and has performed as a soloist in concerts for over 30 years. Mr. Trieu Pham has given numerous solo piano performances in Saigon. He has performed as piano soloist the Mozart’s Concerto No 20 in Dm, Grieg’s Concerto in A minor, Beethoven’s Concerto# 3 C minor, and others with Saigon Symphony Orchestras. He has been continuing to research and perform classical music of all periods.
Mr. Pham studied with famous musicians and teachers in Viet Nam: Professor Nghiem Phu Phi, Professor Thai Thi Lien (Dang Thai Son’s mother) and Professor Nguyen Thi Cuc Xuan who has studied and graduated from the Conservatoire National de Paris and Royal Conservatory in England. He studied at the professional music school from age seven. He graduated with honor and holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performer from National Music Conservatory Saigon City.
In addition to providing a modified comprehensive piano method or a very traditional European classical education, he also coaches aspiring songwriters to achieve their goals at the piano and in lyric writing, as well as theory, harmony and vocal.
